New Publications: Screening Twilight, and Intensities (Special Issue) on Board Games and Adaptation

Hello all,

This has been a very eventful summer for me, and I would like to tell you about my most recent publications:

Finally, after years (at least 3, to be precise) of work Sarah Harman of Brunel University and I have successfully published an anthology on the The Twilight Saga film series entitled Screening Twilight: Critical Approaches to a Cinematic Phenomenon in July for I. B. Tauris.  Covering topics ranging from fandom to reception, aesthetics to politics, psychoanalysis and onward, this collection provides a variety of ways of looking at and thinking about this predominately critically maligned series.

See the flier:

Then, in August, Bethan Jones of Aberystwyth University and I published a year-long project:

We co-edited a collection of essays for a special issue of Intensities: The Journal of Cult Media, focusing on the adaptive relationships between film/tv and board games.  Looking at such transmedial texts as Battleship, The Walking Dead, The Charlie Chan Mysteries, The Wizard of Oz, Terry Pratchett's Discworld Universe, Buffy, and others, we were able to look at several facets and approaches to adaptations between these media.

The journal is peer-reviewed, open access, and completely available online.  Check it out here:
